Weekly strategic communications advice to help you drive relevance and impact

October 29, 2024

Asset 1-1

Cybersecurity Awareness Month—is it the best or worst time to stake your claim as an industry leader?

Jumping in on a month that raises awareness of the growing risks of cyber threats seems like a no-brainer.

But with so many voices in the conversation, it’s easy to get drowned out.

Add value, or you risk spending a whole lot of marketing power on little to no return.

Don’t just add to the noise–drive impact. Cybersecurity marketing leaders shared with us how they approach October (and beyond), with tips that apply to nearly any industry at any time of year:

🔐 Time major product milestones strategically

🤝 Balance messaging across audiences

❗Don’t just speak for the sake of hearing your own voice

🧠 Utilize the credibility of experts

“Cybersecurity marketing is actively evolving now. It's no longer enough to message solely on stopping threats; we need to focus on how our experience and expertise working with organizations like yours will help you successfully protect your organization and keep your employees safe.” - Lisa O’Reilly, VP of Marketing, iVerify

Asset 2-1
  • The latest update of the AI search race catches Google discreetly piloting Search Bidding Exploration, a tool leveraging low-traffic queries.
  • META won't avoid the lawsuit filed by over 30 U.S. states last year, citing its platforms' addictive nature and mental health consequences.
  • TikTok's algorithm faces similar scrutiny regarding addiction and is under fire by more than a dozen states.
  • Marketers are slashing social media spending from their budgets. Why? It's a crowded landscape, and direct attribution to sales can be tough.
